I've struggled with writers block over the last couple of years here and there, here are some things that might help.

  1. Forcing yourself to write through it, not on the story you want to write, but instead, focus on writing something totally different.
  2. Retcon, sometimes the intial jumping off point wasn't the right one, don't be afraid to completely change things so you can move forward (I've changed names, places, and whole characters half way through a multipart series, it doesn't feel right, but I tell myself that I can always fix it in the edit)
  3. Do you have any other creative hobbies? I found that throwing myself into something else that I've never done has actually helped get back on track with the writing. (Maybe it's because it's still using the creative part of the brain, but you're doing something as a noob, and your mind automatically steers you back to what you're good at, removing the block)

One thing that won't help is not writing, I've done that too, and weeks or even months go by before just pushing myself back to doing it.

You're a very good writer I think, and very witty. Over the years I've often wished that my own writing could be half as descriptive as yours.
