Recently I got paid for a job I finished for someone, and I ended up powering up my account by nearly 3 thousand Hive. I was actually going to save it for today, but my excitement got the better of me.
The Rise In Hive's Price
When I converted the 1000 HBD into Hive, I think the price was around 0.33 cents, so I managed to get a little bit more bang for my buck while swapping it over. So, in that sense, I'm lucky to have gotten paid prior to this little pump going on at the minute.
Seeing Hive up is great, and I've noticed that my account value rises by about $150 when the price moves up by one cent. That also works the other way, but I'm pretty confident seeing this upward movement, and I think we can all agree that the good times are on the horizon.
I managed to grab a fair bit of Hive over the last few months, at one point I was accumulating it at 26-ish cents, and that was great.
Based roughly on some calculations and the average earnings from curating/ posting, I think I'll reach 15k by the 1st of April, which is great. I'll be setting aside some of my earnings to power up if I fall slightly below. Currently, I'm earning about 300 Hive a month, so that's amazing.
It feels good being able to give back to people, so I've decided to maintain control of the majority of my HP, even though there are some really good projects I'd like to delegate to.
Onboarding
I was speaking with @ksmithwrites on Reddit and told them about Hive, and walked them through some of the ins and outs of it all. They seem pretty interested in it and made their account with the intention of writing and sharing some fiction with us.
They have been pointed to multiple great writing communities, and for the time being, they're checking the place out. Hopefully, they'll write an introduction post soon, and get started on their publications.
On With The Power-up
HPUD
I love getting involved with the HPUD event and usually take the opportunity to write about what's been going on in my day-to-day life. I didn't have a whole lot to report though, so I figured I would centre this one around my Hive goals.
300 Hive per month, means that by December I should be somewhere in the ballpark of 18k Hive, that would be amazing, although, if I can, I'll be putting my own money into my account and hopefully I'll be able to hit closer to 20k HP by the 1st of January.
I like having these long-term goals, and realistically, 5K HP in the space of 9 months doesn't seem completely unachievable. That could be amazing and I would be close to halfway to Orca.
For the time being though, Dolphin is good.
