Hive Casting #1.3 (Eng/Deu)

Upfront : there is no happy end 😢
After my last try I was pretty sure to know how I can prepare the next mold.
Than I printed some extra parts (Funnel & Position Points)
I wanted to use the old Keyring Pattern again.
I went to the Hardware store to buy the heat resistant Silicone. 🧰
After constructing another box + lid I was ready to start.

To position the parts I put Two-sided tape on a Board and drilled two holes to hold the box in place.
I roughly calculated the amount of the needed Silicone and filled the Box.

The Frame from the first version of my Molding Box I took than to build a simple press, to press down the Silicone.
I placed everything in a warm room for three days.
Full of anticipation, I then set about opening the mold 😅

AND
it was an absolute Desaster!
The Silicone has not become hard and on the spots where it was was dry it was hard like stone 🪨
Of course, I was disappointed, The mistake was that the mass was not suitable for the purpose.

But I have already an idea how I can prepare the next mold and most of the parts are still good to use, so To be continued...

Schon mal vorab : es gibt kein Happy End 😢
Nach meinem letzten Versuch war ich ziemlich sicher zu wissen, wie ich die nächste Form gestalten müsste.

Dann druckte ich noch die nötigen Teile (Trichter & Positionspunkte)
Ich wollte das Muster des Schlüsselanhängerns wieder verwenden.
Dann ging ich in den Baumarkt um das hitzebeständige Silikon zu kaufen. 🧰

Nachdem ich eine Box + Deckel konstruiert und gedruckt hatte war ich bereit los zu legen.
Um die Teile zu positionieren habe ich doppelseitiges Klebeband auf ein Brett geklebt, zusätzlich habe ich noch zwei Löcher gebohrt, damit die Box nicht verrutscht.

Ich habe dann die ungefähre Menge errechnet und die Box mit Silikon gefüllt.
Die Rahmen meiner ersten Version des Formkastens habe ich dann genutzt um eine kleine Presse zu bauen, um das Silikon in der Box möglichst gut zu verteilen.

Ich stellte dann alles für drei Tage in einen warmen Raum.
Voller Vorfreude machte ich mich dann daran die Form zu öffnen 😅

UND
Es war ein absolutes Desaster!
Das Silikon war nicht hard geworden und da wo es getrocknet war so hart wie Stein 🪨
Ich war natürlich enttäuscht, daß Problem war, daß die Masse nicht für den Zweck geeignet war.

Aber ich habe bereits eine Idee für die nächste Form und die meisten der Teile kann ich auch nochmal verwenden, also Fortsetzung folgt.
