Its the 2nd week of 2024. We have a long way to through this year. The year started with the recent release of Rebellion and Land 1.5 in the previous months. Lot of development happening in the Splinterlands and lot opportunities to try. Its always good to share the things I did in these past years in Splinterlands.
In the past years I have been focused on article writing while consistently doing battle for season reward and daily rewards. Collecting cards has been my additional goals. I need to grow my collection exponentially to prepare for my higher league. Last year I only managed to top on Golden III.
But the road wasn't easy after collecting Chaos Legion pack and unsleeved some of those, we're faced with a crypto market downfall. This result in card prices cut more than half of its original price in the mid-2023. Even now its very gut-wrenching that the price of Chaos Legion drop down to $1.00.
But the difficult part of rising up the league is the fact that you can't rely entirely on Chaos Legion set. Untamed editions are still playable in the modern format. But the cost of Untamed card is much too expensive to get. This create a gap between well financed players and new-comer like myself. So Its beyond my control, and I could only decided to just stay in the Silver leagues.
By the end of the year, Rebellion editions was released. I'm indecisive on whether to purchase this editions or not. The price fall of the previous editions has repress my will to purchase this. In the end, I invest myself in the pre-sale and managed to purchase 127 Rebellion packs! It's costly, but in the end I felt glad to make this choice. The pre-sale has grant me Mantaroth, which has become one of my favourite card these past times.
At the same time, Land 1.5 was also released. I was curious with these land concept. So I decided to purchase a total of 4 Normal land and 1 Rare land. It really great because land allow me to utilize unused cards to produce commodity. But the need to stack DEC is a burden not to be taken lightly.
To my surprise, land quickly become popular, and the price rise up pretty quickly. The price in the secondary market now has rose around 30% to 40% compared to mid December 2023. Still to allow land to produce efficiently there's a lot of steps need to be followed which I think need quite an effort.
My upcoming goals currently will be focus on the land and the upcoming Airdrop Conflict. Airdrop Conflict seemed to promise a very intresting promo cards, which I should not missing out. For Rebellion collection, I've already gained a quite number of cards which put me in good position to dominate the Silver league.
