Man I just played a div 8 PvP that had me genuinely stressed the whole 90 minutes 😂 I swear my heart was racing by halftime.
From kickoff you could just tell this guy was not playing. His whole squad looked expensive. But the one that scared me most was his striker — 108 Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Bro that card is a problem. Anytime I gave the ball away he would just bully my backline, hold it up like nothing, turn, and take a shot. I was sitting there like “nah this is unfair”. On my side I had Batistuta. I love Bati, he’s done a lot for me, but putting him up against that Ibra felt like an insult. The squad gap was crazy from the first 5 minutes. I already knew I was in for a long game.
And as if the squad gap wasn’t bad enough, my network decided to misbehave that day. Lag was everywhere. I’d try to play a simple pass and it would take 2 seconds to go through, or my winger would just stand there while the ball rolled to their defender. I’d finally win the ball, try to counter, and by the time my pass registered he was already back defending. It was so annoying wtf. I couldn’t even build up properly. So I just gave up on attacking and parked the bus. Defending was all I had. Somehow though, my 107 Cannavaro went crazy. He was literally glued to Ibra the whole match. Every time that beast tried to turn, Canavaro was there. Cafu on the side was also helping me chase and cover. Without them I would’ve conceded 3 easy ones.
Full time ended 0-0. And you know what? I’ll take that draw any day. Against a 108 Ibra with my internet acting up, not losing is already a win for me. If my network was normal I’m sure I would’ve at least scored one, maybe two. I had like 2-3 chances that just died because of delay. But I’m not even mad. Props to the guy, his squad was nasty. Props to me too for not getting cooked in div 8. That division doesn’t play. I just hope next match my network behaves so I can actually play football and not just defend for 90 minutes.
