After a long break from PvP in eFootball because my network was acting up for weeks I finally jumped back in division 9 hoping to shake off the rust but man what a way to return. The game decided to pair me up against what felt like a total newbie or someone still learning the ropes maybe a kid or a casual player who hadn’t quite figured out the mechanics yet and I could tell right away from the way they were positioning. I started off a bit careful not to overwhelm too quick but once I realized their defense was leaving huge gaps and they weren’t pressing effectively I just let loose with Borussia Dortmund’s fast attackers slicing through like it was training mode.
The match turned into a total masterclass from my side as I kept piling on the pressure with quick passes and clinical finishes every time I got near their box their keeper was left stranded most of the time and by halftime it was already looking ugly for them. I wasn’t trying to be toxic or anything but the flow was just too good shots raining in from all angles and their attempts to build anything from the back kept getting intercepted or tackled hard. Possession was mostly mine and every counter they tried fizzled out before it even started it felt almost unfair but hey that’s how these matchmaking moments go sometimes.
Pushing into the second half I kept the tempo high without overdoing it rotating my squad a bit and still finding the net whenever an opening appeared their Madrid Chamartin B side just couldn’t cope with the movement and by the end the stats told the whole story fifteen shots all on target while they had literally nothing to show for their efforts. Zero fouls or offsides on both sides weirdly enough but my tackles and interceptions shut down any hope they had of a comeback it was one of those games where everything clicked for me after not playing ranked for so long.
Ending up with a 10-0 thrashing felt satisfying in a way but also made me smile thinking about how eFootball sometimes throws these mismatches especially when you’re coming back from a hiatus. I clicked next for the next match feeling pumped and reminded why I love diving into PvP even after network troubles kept me away for ages hope that newbie sticks with it and improves though cause the grind gets better once you learn the basics.
