What it Really Means to Love One Another
Valentine's day! The day of love right? Well, that may depend on your definition of LOVE.
Does being single on Valentine's Day mean you can’t participate in the one day a year set aside to celebrate love? Absolutely not.
God instructs us to love one another, His most important commandment to us all. What does it mean to love one another? It seems difficult, this act of offering love to all. Have you ever clutched your purse a little tighter as you slowly inched away from someone who may have looked or dressed differently than you? Or, you thought to yourself “quick, look busy” when you noticed your needy neighbor walking your way? Or, have you ever ignored a stranger who just kept talking to you as you waited in line together at the coffee shop? You’re not alone.
I have loved my son and daughters, my family, and the friends around me on a much deeper level since my separation. I've learned that life is short and doesn't always turn out the way we dreamed.
To all single mom like me, don't lost hope.. always remember, God is always there for us.. As God says in the Bible,
- “Single mom, do not worry. I shall supply all that you need that I might accomplish my plan for you.” (Philippians 4:19)
- “Single mom, you feel it’s out of my reach, but nothing is impossible with me.” (Matthew 19:26)
- “Single mom, do not lose heart. Though your outer self is wasting away, your inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for you an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as you look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:16-18)
