I've been experimenting with AI-assisted game development and wanted to share the result with the Hive community!

Meet The Room Remembers, a small observation puzzle game inspired by the theme โ€œSomething's Offโ€ - for GameJamPlus 2026/27, through CEGA.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Can you trust your eyes?

You're looking at an ordinary room. There's a chair, a clock, a painting, a lamp, and a window.

Everything looks perfectly normal.

Until something changes.

Your job is to spot the anomalies and decide whether the room is normal or something is off. You have limited lives, so careless guesses can cost you.

The catch? The room remembers what you overlook.

Some changes are obvious. Others are subtle enough to make you question your own observation skills.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Building it with AI

This project has been an interesting experiment in AI-assisted game development. I started with an idea and worked through turning it into a playable experience, refining the visuals, designing anomalies, and getting everything ready for people to try.

It's fascinating how much you can experiment with when you combine a game concept with AI tools, although getting the details right still takes iteration.

๐ŸŽฎ Give it a try!

I'd love to hear what you think!

  • Which anomaly did you notice first?
  • Were any of the changes too subtle or too obvious?
  • What would you improve or add?

If you enjoy puzzle games, give it a shot and let me know how you do!
