Hey ash@ash, thanks for the questions. I think it's prudent to ask these and definitely prudent to also tell people to DYOR before becoming involved in something.

Trumpman dropped your post in Discord and I had a little chat about the questions you raised. Attached is the response.

In short (kinda): LeoFinance is not a fully decentralized project (yet) nor does it market itself as one. The goal is definitely to get to that point someday, but in order to get there, the project needs a sense of direction and leadership. In my opinion, that's the value that some level of centralization brings to the table.

While we can decentralize WLEO in the future (and we will at some point), our single point of failure is in Hive-Engine where the entire second-layer is centralized and out of our hands. I hope to see Agg live up to his original promises of decentralizing HE, and if he doesn't, I hope to see a decentralized replacement - be it SMTs or an alternative second layer - come to the market soon.

Personally, I don't like to give promises I can't keep. So I can't guarantee whether HE will be decentralized or whether we'll ever deliver on a decentralized alternative. My ultimate goal is, however, to deliver on that.

Hope this helps! I also encourage everyone to understand exactly what this project is and aims to be before becoming intimately involved with it. I do the same for any other crypto project I become involved in - whether it's BTC, ETH, BAT, etc. Understand the weak points and don't take what people say at face value.
