“I have not departed from his commands, but have treasured his words more than daily food.” – Job 23:12, NLT.
A treasure is something of value. We normally ensure we hide the things we treasure in order not to lose it. We give attention to things we value. If we value God’s Word, we will make time to study it. From the anchor scripture, the commands of God were more important to Job than his daily bread. The words of God must be treasured and given priority.
Anything you value, you always remember where you hide it. If reading the Bible is valuable to you, you will squeeze time to study it no matter how busy you are. In addition, a day will never pass where you will say – ‘I forgot to read the Word today.’ Our destinies are shaped in the right direction when we give much attention to the word of God.
Psalm 119:11 says, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Hide the commands of the Holy Book in your heart or spirit. The things that are stored in your spirit flows through your mind. You are what you eat.
Jeremiah 15:16 ~ “Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.”
Studying the word of God produces joy. Use any means to get the Word to stay in your spirit, for it is life. Whenever the Word is being read, it stirs up something within you. Eat the Word to enable you grow spiritually. The Word of God stabilizes your life in the midst of challenges. Treasure the Word, get to know the mind of God concerning you and apply it.
