“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” – Psalm 90:12.
There is no better time to serve God than now - when you are full of life and have the energy to go all out for God. Ecclesiastes 11:9 says, “Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.”
You may do all you want to do – all the pleasurable things, but remember God will judge you. Be mindful of your ways and live as a child of light. Funerals always remind us about the brevity of time. Ecclesiastes 7:2 ~ “It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart.”
Sometimes in the midst of celebration or party we tend to forget ourselves and do things that does not please God. There is a story in the Bible about a rich man who was boasting about his wealth, he said to himself, "You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry” (Luke 12:19, NIV). And that every night God took his life away from him.
Beloved, the rapture can happen any day or time. We are either like the wise virgins who prepared themselves awaiting the arrival of the bridegroom or the foolish virgins whose light went off because they had no extra oil. There will be no excuse on the day of the Lord (Judgement day). Serving God is the best gift you can give to God and yourself. Let wisdom guide you.
