RECEIVING DIVINE DIRECTION
“And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, this is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.” – Isaiah 30:21.
God knows every way we ought to take so it is only wisdom to ask Him for direction in everything we do. There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. Receiving divine direction leads a person to the right destination. It also eliminates guess work. There are various ways God speaks to us and most at times He speaks in the language we will understand.
God speaks through: 1) The Word. Psalms 29:3 says, “The voice of the Lord is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the Lord is upon many waters.” Water is symbolic of the Word according to Ephesians 5:26. As you study the Word, God can draw your attention to a Scripture which can end a dilemma.
Inner/inward witness: We can either lose our peace or experience inner peace over a decision we want to take. Do not go ahead with any decision you feel uneasy about. Romans 8:16 ~ “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.” 3) Audible voice: This is where you hear God’s voice clearly speaking to you.
Revelation/dream/trance/vision: God can also speak to you in one of these ways to confirm a word about something. Pay attention to the revelation, dream, trance or vision you receive and act accordingly. 5) Man – pastors/mentors. God can speak to you through your pastor’s sermons. Be receptive to God so that you do not miss His direction through any medium He uses.
