“You want to bring me down from my place of honour. You love to tell lies, and when your words are kind, hatred hides in your heart.” – Psalm 62:4, CEV.
Vision killers are people who are aimless in life and they delight in also killing or destroying the vision of others. Sometimes too, such people lose their dream along the way in their journey of life due to lack of passion, they also quench the passion of others because of envy. Beware of friends or people around you who always talk you out of anything you want to do.
A story is told in 1 Kings 3:16-28, where two women living in the same house both had babies. One of the women laid on her baby during the night and the baby died. She exchanged her dead baby with the other woman’s baby. When the matter was brought before the king the next day, the woman whose baby was dead insisted the living baby should be killed.
The dead baby represents a dead vision or passion. The woman whose baby died also represents people who will do everything possible to kill your passion/dream so that you all can be the same. Hanging around certain individuals can kill your vision. A vision is anything you seek to pursue. It could be a desire to serve God with passion, career or academic goals, vision of building a successful marriage, etc.
My counsel to you is to stay focused on whatever you want to pursue. Do not lose your zeal or passion. Surround yourself with people who will help you flourish. Note that not everybody will be happy when you succeed at anything. But, when God is with you, every negative counsel of vision killers will amount to nothing.
