"Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won't you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?” – Luke 14:28, NIV.
Anything our hands find to do, we must make up our minds to succeed at it. This happens through prayer, thinking and planning. If you want to be a star you must be a thinker. Great thinkers make great destinies. A thinker meditates to get ideas to shift his level. For instance, as a business man/woman, you must sit down and think about ways to expand your business and also improve the quality of your product(s).
Ask yourself where you want the business to be in the next five or ten years. How do you sustain the business? As you think and pray, take note of the ideas that come to mind, then strategize and weigh the options. As Christians, we must not only pray, but apply knowledge when necessary. We must live a balanced life. Proverbs 11:1 says, “A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.”
We have the mind of Christ to make things work in our favour. God gave us brains to think, put your mind to work. Mediocre thinking equals mediocre results. “Your mind is a gateway to your life.” (Bishop David Oyedepo). A non-thinker becomes stagnated. When God laid it on Nehemiah’s heart to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, he didn’t just get up to go do the work.
He thought about it and worked through a well-planned strategy to accomplish the vision God gave him. He first assessed the damage and then secured the resources. He established leaders and distributed the assignments among them. Proverbs 14:15 (ISV) says, “An unthinking person believes everything, but the prudent one thinks before acting.” Engage your mind to be a highflyer.
