Have u ever thought what is End to end encryption is? Here is the best suitable explanation of stuff.
End to End encrypyion (E2EE) is the software design by the developers of the company to keep the chats the we do with other people completely private and without any interference of any third party or any hacker.The system is purely encrypted i.e the software takes care that two people communicating with each other,sending and recieving messages ,there communications will be only with them and no other person can see that ,nor the creator of the software will be able to hack or tamper it.The software are design by matrix technique,the encryption and decryption of data is completely done by the software and cannot be done by any other third party app or member.
If you still have confusion what is meant by word encrypt then see this:
encryption is the process of encoding a message or information in such a way that only authorized parties can access it.
In encryption process an information shared is referred to as plain text ,this plain text is encrypted by cipher(code ) which generates cipher text (code text ),this can be read only if u decrypt it and this can be decrypted only if u know decryption key generated by algorithm and thus this stuff happens between those two communicating people and thus it completely gives privacy for the users.
Lets take an example If you and your friend are communicating, and you write a text called "HOW ARE YOU",this will be encrypted by your software (for eg whatsapp) by code key or also called sercret key generated by it ,now when the message reaches at reciever's end there ,with the same key it gets decrypted and thus the communication between u both becomes completely private.
Now if any middle man comes to hack you then unless he is having that decryption key he wont be able to crack it.
Also so hackers try to hack the operator key and give u the secret code or key that he knows and thus he is able to decrypt the code.
Advantages and disadvantages of it:As from above I kept on saying its advatages, so lets talk about its disadvantage,The main problem with this type of system is to government intelligence agencies were they are not able to hack or tamper the chats or data (that is encrypted )and thus couldnt catch terrorist or illegal activities going on.The intelligence department doesn't want terrorist or other sort of people to use this kind of things to communicate with each other and thus cause trouble to society and so they came up with soln to the problem that is creator themselves should provide a backdoor to there software were intelligence department or creators themselves could go in and thus tamper data.This leads to problem that software company making best of algorithms to protect it from mainside creates a small bug on the back side of software design that is they themselves have to put a bug into there system which is not done ,as most of the company advertise there product on basis of security or privacy they provide but because of this backdoor services they themselves risk the privacy of users and thus they let down there own product.Hence many have disagreed to provide a backdoor in software and thus to risk security of its software.
This has led to the controversy and many cases have been filed up against and many more will be filed.So lets not get on to the controversy let it be till courts and justice room.
