With a little knowledge of natural science or geology, we can feel like we are walking in the space of a natural history museum. It's just that it is a living museum. Something we can realize in this living museum is that the events that began billions of years ago are not over yet. It is in fact still ongoing.
These rocky hills, which are located on the north coast of Sumatra, "exhibit" the events that have passed in such a long time. Events such as eruptions, sedimentation, erosion, weathering and then geomorphological changes are shown in this living museum. The "actors" involved in those events are also still at the scene.
Forecasting events that will occur in the future is difficult. What happened in the past may or may not happen again! Nobody really knows! In front of a lot of stuff on display in museums like this, our brains feel too small to predict what will happen next. We don't plan to control the "actors" who are still present here. We may only be able to make peace with them, and respect them, while enjoying the kindness they give. And then, only gratitude and awe can really be felt here!
