I was astonished at first to see it. The leaves of the plant directly remind the butterfly wings. I came closer to it, and as close to it as possible, the image of a butterfly still stuck in my mind. It is very similar to the butterfly wings. Purple, it looks more amazing.
It is a beautiful false butterfly, and certainly used as an ornamental plant. After I found out a little about it, I found out it was scientifically named: [Oxalis triangularis], commonly called false shamrock.
Houseplantsexpert mentions that two interesting aspects of this plant is it's photonastic response, which is it's reaction of opening up its leaves during the day and closing at night. And, the other is that it's known as an edible plant. (see the link)
But the source also added:
"... although there seems to be a lot of discussion about the amount of oxalic acid having negative effects on humans, so I think would rather stick to vegetables to be safe." (see the link)
