Ohh the years, the breaths
Wasted on you
The money, the moments
Wasted on you
From childhood you filled my lungs With second hand smoke
And as I got older I chose to hold you to my own lips
I wish I would have never taken that first puff
Never gave into the smoke breaks
And now, my lungs ache
Ohh the years, the breaths
Wasted on you
The money, the moments
Wasted on you
I’m over not smelling like I should
Not tasting like I could
I’m over my mouth tasting like an ash tray
So ready for our last day
I’m over the smell that lingers on my clothes
My hands, my lips
I’m over being addicted Giving away my power
This, is our final hour
Ohh the years, the breaths Wasted on you
The money the moments
Wasted on you
Ohh the hell you have put me through
I am over you.
I wrote this recovering from smoking cigarettes, I have been cigarette free and I am so very happy. I guess sometimes you just gotta write it out. Goodbye for good. Sending my love and prayers to anyone out there struggling with addiction of any kind. Take your power back, your self respect, and your self love. You got this. We love you.❤
