A liberty minded fellow Canadian, we definitively share a common villain called tyranny that frequently oversteps it's ministry mandate of protecting children by ruining the lives of innocent parents to justify their funding, rather than going after the real criminals. An interesting choice @nainaztengra Linda hasn't posted much yet I know she is present somewhere in the background.

With Emergency funds I always prioritize Health needs first. Having worked years as a Community Nurse I do come across needy strangers who cannot afford their prescription medication. These people are usually Homeless falling through the cracks of the public Health insurance system because they have no fixed address. I give the patient a drugstore gift card to buy their medicine. This does give me joy filling these needs even when it comes out of my pocket.
