I've been there when I realized that my Mom wanted me to be an honor student pursuing for a Doctorate in the University of BC. It didn't happen. Not even close. I finished near the bottom of my High school graduating class. That resulted in my distance from my mother that lasted years. Sometimes our parent(s) live their dreams thought their children. Thus, I let my children decide their own paths.
