SHOOT the big birds? This sounds like rampant capturing of live birds for the pet trade, am I correct? I take it that the big birds of prey usually hunt the smaller ones for food so without them there would be larger populations of smaller ones. Therefore putting the local ecological systems out of balance. Oh my. Googling ... yes, a few articles are implying that the Maltese govt. deliberatly turning a blind eye to this enviornment crime.
