Are there different cups needed for different occasion?
My answer is YES! And why is that?
The not so scientific answere is that it's all about the experience. Different time of the day, and different places demands its own cup.
Morning cup
Imagine this scenario:
Early morning, entering the kitchen. And you feel the smell... The smell of fresh coffee. One of the most wonderful flavors in the world! You take out your morning coffee cup and you fill it with the dark beverage. And then you enjoy...
Without my morning-cup this is not the same. I even feel that coffee tastes different in different cups, which makes the choice of cup essential for the experience, doesn't it?
Here are my morning cups, yes I have two similar cups, lol. If one for some reason is in the dishwasher, I need the backup cup.

On the go cup
Some mornings I need to rush. Then I just have to bring my coffee with me. I have a wonderful to go cup, that my daughter gave me for my birthday a few years ago:

Afternoon cup
Afternoon coffee is slightly different from morning coffee. Not exclusive and I take it to get a break from whatever I do. Still the cup has to be the right one, it's part of the ritual and experience, for me... I love my green cup with dots. It's another gift from my kids. It's a bit big for a coffee cup, more of a mug. But still I love it, which makes the whole thing enjoyable.

Evening cup
In the evening, I wish to drink a caffeine free beverage. Rooibos tea or some other kind of tea is wonderful to enjoy just before I go to bed. Tea cups (mugs) should be, in my opinion: big! My tea cup is a beautiful ceramic cup, with white glaze.

This cup contributes to my tea moment, which I also spice up a bit with milk and honey. Almost like in the Roxette song (so beautiful, you need to hear it if you haven't).

Is there such thing as a "perfect cup"?
For me, there are a lot of "perfect cups". It all depends on when, where and who. I have a collection of cups that suits different occasions. The right cup for the right occasion is perfect for me:-)
