Hi all, I'm Kephler (IGN: caephler) and I'm excited to be part of the GodsUnchained community! I've been in the cryptosphere since 2017 participating in various crazy things in the space - I was an early adopter of Cryptokitties for those of you who were there to experience the first NFT craze back then.
GU has caught my eye again after I absently mindedly bought a couple of Genesis packs for fun; I'm honestly quite amazed at the progress that has been made in the last 2 years. I have been an on-and-off player of CCGs and TCGs (over-the-board and online) over the last couple of years, playing mainstream games like Hearthstone and Shadowverse, to relatively obscure titles in the West such as Weiss Schwarz and Vanguard. Through the 100 or so games of GodsUnchained that I've played so far, I am excited to see what potential the game has, even though it is lacking a great deal of polish.
Even though I bought Genesis packs in 2018, I did not buy that many and initially could not scrounge up a decent deck with the cards that I had. My first Weekend Ranked had me stabilizing at about Twilight Shadow. After finding out that some of my Genesis cards had value (I had 2 Master Tacticians which I sold for ~0.022 ETH each), I sold them and cough netdecked cough a Relic War deck, replacing exorbitant Genesis cards with replacements. This cost me about 0.03 ETH (~120 USD), which is a reasonable price to pay for a Tier 2-3 deck in most card games.
This trusty deck led me to climb with a 75% winrate to Ethereal Diamond during the weekend - I was amazed at how much progress could be made with such a small investment! In CCGs like Hearthstone, building a meta deck would cost much more than that. I'm happy with how the GU economy is functioning right now, and I believe that the team will be able to provide longterm supporters of the game with tangible benefits while still being welcoming to newer players.
I'm hoping to be more active in the community, posting more in-depth experiences with my GU decks as well as guides for newer players. Hoping that we'll all be a supportive community! 馃榿
