Hello friends!
The theme of this contest is Circus
For this week I wanted to do something different, I do not usually draw with colored pencils but because of the theme of the contest I wanted to experiment with colors because it deserves it!
My entry to the contest is who I call the protagonist of the circus. "The clown".

For this drawing I support a lot of the Charcoal pencil to highlight each dark area, so I can then paint comfortably with the colored pencils.
As I did?
For this drawing you need the following tools:
- Mechanical Pencil.
- HB Mines.
- Charcoal Pencil.
- Brush
- Diffuser
- Colored Pencils Prismacolor.
- A4 Opaline 180G.
The truth is that I found it quite comfortable to paint with colored pencils, at first I was worried because I did not know how to make shading or volume with them, but remember the graphite powder and paint over it to make the job easier. Start by painting the clown's mouth and giving some shadows with the Charcoal Pencil.
To highlight the volume and shadows of the face, use pure graphite powder, expanding it with the brush in the areas where I needed it, as shown in the photo, leaving the face like this:
Finally I painted over and this gave exactly the effect I wanted, I think that applying the techniques I use in realism with graphite to this work turned out what I wanted.
It was a bit short but I could not explain much what I did, I just started painting and doing what I did and this clown came out that I'm still thinking about his name ...
I want to thank @juliakponsford for making this contest every week which motivates me a lot to do different jobs.
To finish I want to wish you all the luck that participates in this contest, really there are very good artists here.
Thanks for visiting my post!
Until next time!
