I watch a lot of Alex vids; smart lad and well spoken! I haven't seen the one you talk about here.

First thought - might not be too long before the universal understanding that everyone has a father is no longer true. AI sums it up...

Back to the God as Father analogy, I think our parents are where our concept of gods come from. Mom creates our world that we swim in for 9 months as a complete parasite, fully dependent on her for everything. Then we're born, as a template for the born-again concept maybe. Humans can't stand up and walk a half hour after birth like giraffes. We can't do much of anything for a few years. If we don't bond with god-like creatures (usually mom and maybe dad and others) then we die. We need help eating, and being protected from the world. We reach up towards our parents like some people do in church. Maybe that means we've evolved to readily accept an illusion of a god-like presence. More here.

People talk about having a relationship with God or Jesus (one in the same according to trinity doctrine I believe) but they'll often qualify by saying "I haven't actually heard God speak to me in actual words, or seen him with my eyes" but they still feel they are having a relationship. Whereas no one qualifies their relationship with their dad by saying they never actually heard or saw him.

Bottom line - everyone understands the Father concept due to actual interaction with it in the real world. It is true since the concept corresponds with the real world. But it seems that no one actually finds supernatural gods in the real natural world, by definition.

I suspect that some of the laughing audience members might be chuckling at what I'm talking about here, and how the analogy fails. I need to go find this Alex video now!
