This whole thing and the way it happens over here is only making things worse for people. We pay for these whether we get it or not and it's compulsory to pay. So, in my opinion, it's only normal to get value for your money after paying.
A lot of households and businesses who can afford a generator have standby Generators. That's how they try to help themselves despite being born into a country where nobody looks out for each other. But, even the Petrol needed to get these Generators operational have faced the rough side of inflation. 300% inflation in 7 days is no joke in a country where some people live on less than $1 per day.
So, people are trying. And they don't have all their dependency on the government. I can't afford to buy a standby Generator and I can't afford to fix a solar panel so, I opted for Power bank. I have been using a Power bank of 27000mah since the last quarter of last year. That plus my phone which has 6000mah always makes it easier for me to at least, be online.
Over the week, this electricity issue became more serious. Another power bank of the same feature will be delivered to me today. That's something I chose to do in order to help myself in this situation. At least, it makes it possible for me to come online. And to be fair, this is the max I can do because it has already stretched my budget. I also get to pay daily to charge my gadgets in places where it's not even safe. But I have to take the risk because if I don't, you won't see my shadow online till...God knows when. Hehe.
Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take away everything you have.
I don't think anyone is expecting this from Government. Not in my part of the world. What we ask for is the bare minimum from them.
I checked the price of solar panel yesterday before going to bed. $200 for the panel alone. A good Generator goes for $390.
Some people over here do not earn up to $200 for a whole year. Do you see? I just don't wish this situation on anyone in any other part of the world.
Remember when I talked about Wahala? I seriously don't think people face the same magnitude of wahala in different parts of the world.
