Hello, it's another three-tunes day! The last three tunes day before Nigeria's federal election. Hehe.

All Nigerians are already filled with a surge of anticipation.
We are counting down to our Presidential election which will hold on 25th February, 4 days from today. On my own, I've been reflecting on the things going on in my country. I'm filled with thoughts about how this election will be.
Most importantly, I'm hoping for a better Nigeria as I buzz these songs through my earphones;
1. With My Own Two Hands by Ben Harper
That's an interesting 2003 jam right there. The song has a reggae vibe to it and it's one of those kinda songs that sounds like a motivational speech from a very inspiring charismatic speaker. Haha. Fair play though... That's pretty much how most reggae songs sound to me.
Can you even imagine what you can do with your own two hands?
This song outlined a good number of those things. As my country's Presidential election is edging closer, there are a good number of things we can do with our own two hands to make this country a better and safer place. Yeah, we've got to use our own two hands to vote for the best candidate for the job.
2. One Tribe by Black Eyed Peas
'One Tribe y'all'
This line says it all and I love how it was repeated in several parts of the song. For a song that was released in 2009, it seems like this dude had a sneak peek into the future of African countries. Yeah, we are already in 2023, but Tribalism is eating deep into countries like Nigeria.
This song is for those who are experiencing Tribalism and other sorts of discriminatory vices we see in this modern society. If you find it hard to stand any of those, feel free to listen to this jam and tap some inspiration from it. Yeah, it's a true call for us to come together and treat each other as one.
3. Earth Song by Michael Jackson.
Give it up for Michael Jackson. The legend made a name for himself in the industry and his songs live forever after. This particular one was released in 1995. I can still recall watching the music video in the mid 2000s. It was captivating like an action movie, but I finally got to understand the message in it when I became older.
Seriously, 'Look what we've done'
This particular song digs deep into several aspects of the loss we experience on Earth. The interesting thing about this is that it wasn't only highlighting the suffering of humans. A huge part of it also referenced the suffering of animals, trees and our planet as a whole.
I weep bitterly for the future of humanity, especially for those in my part of the world. We are already pushed to the wall. We got kicked down and pinned down. Consequentially, so many of us are now flushing our humanity down the drain in order to survive.
Seriously, God help Nigerians in Nigeria.
