How about a "vote diversity score" that accumulates over time and increases rewards if higher and decreases them if lower. Could help to get people to spread out their votes to new and neglected users.

How about an "engagement score"? Post engagement (comments, replies and comment upvotes) influences payout.

How about another thing where someone who is first to discover and upvote a high payout post (by an author who has never had a high payout) gets a BIG reward. Gamification. Random rewards. I hear this is the kind of stuff people like.

Even better. How about just random big rewards from the blockchain to a couple of posts a week. Make this place more like Las Vegas. I mean, we keep everything else the way it is, we still have curation etc., but we add some more excitement to the place.

While we're at it, can we finally add longer payout periods? Like years? 7 days is not nearly long enough for content discovery. There are thousands of hours of wasted effort sitting on this blockchain forever because we don't have enough users yet to dig up the hidden gems and even if there were there is no incentive for them except pure interest or curiosity. There would also be a lot more incentive to produce quality content if the potential for payout persisted indefinitely.
