NPM is what peertube servers require if you want a one-click way of installation. Otherwise, you can always download the plugin from npm and build it yourself. So the choice is yours.

Additionally, the install/download counts go up, and they go down. This 849 number is a new all-time high for us, it took us over a year to get it that high, so we're pretty excited that our products are getting so much attention.

It's not easy to get that number to go up either, it takes a lot of work, a quality product, a bit of social media coverage and regular releases.
