Words stuck in my mind and throat
Fighting to be let out and free,
Jagged sobs and sniffs
The question is ripped from inside me,
Why?

I glimpse what I consider real,
Years of moulding by the potters
Turns me another way
That hurts like a jagged clog in a wheel
Why?

Like a wild animal, eyes wide and snarling,
Anger almost drowns my self-consciousness
Surrounded by untruths and deception
Seeking just one honest thing,
Why?

Enough with the performances and lies
I'm tired of dancing around mirages
Like blooming flowers to warm sunlight
I crave honesty though it hurts,
Why?

Ignorance is no bliss but slow death,
I want to hear someone say it
Like dagger driven deep into my heart
The truth written on parchments and walls
Eternal and real, they define and answer my query,
Why?
