I could say Beverly wouldn't need to hire Candice but still, her information combined with Dorothy's would serve as valuable evidence against Preston and help connect the dots.

Dorothy's revelations says a lot about the control Preston has had over this neighborhood such that her husband preferred to keep quiet and let Lionel take the blame for a mess created by Preston's own family!

Preston is such a terrible person, using his position for personal gain while parading around as the defender of the precious petunias. I love how Beverly's plan is coming together. She barely had to lift a finger yet the information keeps finding its way to her. Now I'm wondering how she intends to bring everything out into the open. Also, Carmen has a lot of explaining to do.
