I applaud you for this fascinating piece! Christian's narration feels both like a confession and warning to other young boys—stay clear of the House of the Rising Sun aka House of Ursula. But will they listen? 😄
The mystery and seduction keep me glued to every word while the sense of danger is suspenseful. Also, your narrative arc is clear and compelling, and the mood grounds me in New Orleans. You bring the city to life vividly as if I was there though I've never been.
The relationship between Juliette and Christian is intriguing. She's eager to join the House while he's skeptical at first. Once they are caught, everything changes. I guess the seductive powers of Madam Ursula is alluring hence his surrender. He's as hooked as his father and uncle!
Beautifully written. Well done!
