Happy Friday Hivers!

My friend brought me at Tierra Alta the other day. It is one of the famous tourist attractions in Valencia. Actually I initiated this trip and asked him to accompany me and fortunately, he didn't decline.

We left in Valencia main town at around 1:30 in the afternoon. The travel time will only take 20~25 minutes from Valencia town to Tierra Alta. As we travelled going to the mountain resort, I haven't noticed unpaved road so despite the bad weather the journey was still pretty good. Although some roads we took was steep and curve but still it is manageable.

As we entered the main gate, I saw big houses erected on the mountains. It is home of the rich people, I told myself.

The place was quite and we only saw few people around. Some of them were construction workers because the development is still on-going.

I've seen this tourist spot from a friend's fb post and I was fascinated because of its Mediterranean architectural style. It seems I was in Santorini, Greece.

One of the nicest facilities in Tiera Alta that caught most of the guests' attention is their spectacular lighthouse. As I saw this in my friend's fb post I wanted to climb the lighthouse until I will reach to the top, however during my visit, I was informed that the lighthouse was temporarily closed because of the shattered glass inside due to the aftermath of super typhoon Odette. After hearing those words, I was truly disappointed.

Maybe my friend noticed my silence so he find ways for me to climb the lighthouse.

He brought me to the stairs located beside the lighthouse and we both ascended to the stairs. Although that was not exactly what I wanted to do while I'm at Tierra Alta but I tried to show contentment as an appreciation to my friend's effort. Well, it was still ok because my eyes were able to see the jaw-dropping scenery of the mountains in Valencia.

Later on, we decided to go down and we continued to explore the place.

My friend told me that the resort also holds a wedding reception. It is indeed a nice reception because you will be surrounded with majestic scenery on your very special day. And at night, you could fully see the stars gleaming in the sky. I can visualize how romantic the night is.

Actually the resort is not that huge but it is magnificent. The ground is clad with well-trimmed bermuda grass.

This is a pool area but unfortunately we were not able to enjoy the poolside since it rained and we don't have planned to swim.

How To Get To Tierra Alta

From Dumaguete City, you may hop in to the jeepney going to Valencia town. The fare is only Php20.00. From Valencia terminal, hire a tricycle going to Tiera Alta. The fare is Php250.00 ($5) back and forth.

But if you wanted a hassle-free Tiera Alta trip or Valencia trip, you may contact my friend or book a schedule in my friend's FB page for your transportation. Here's the link of my friend's FB page Valencia Tourist Spot. He is very responsive to the messages and he is also accomodating.

My Tierra Alta trip was very special. There was something happened that gave so much joy in my heart. If I would think Tiera Alta, that sweet memory will automatically cross into my mind.

That was the end of my Tierra Alta trip. Although I could not afford yet to travel abroad to see those different architectural styles around the world but I'm grateful to those people who brought the different architectural styles in our homeland.
