Blog #160: Walking at Rizal Boulevard in Dumaguete City

Happy Thursday Hivers!

Rizal Boulevard is known as one of the iconic attractions in Dumaguete City, a favorite hangout place of the Dumaguetnons. The place is filled with many fancy bars and restaurants; hotels and inns lining up along the streets. The bustling clubs and restaurants at night gives the place vibrant vibe.

Yesterday, after doing my errands I went to Rizal Boulevard simply to breathe fresh air. It was already 5:00 in the afternoon and the sun was almost setting when I arrive. The people were started coming in and the place was slowy getting crowded.

The busiest time in the Boulevard is at night. People no matter from what ages flock in the Boulevard to chill and relax after the busy day.

Since it was not too crowded yet the time I arrive, I took that opportunity to capture some beautiful scenery. I walked around, took some photos and I found it therapeutic.

People were busy walking; jogging and doing different forms of exercise. Imagine doing an exercise in a vast and waterfront place. You may heard the sounds of the waves crashing on the seawall; you may heard birds chirping in the century old trees or you may see a boat coming in; a colorful sky or the jubilant faces of children running around. It was absolutely great.

Taking break from school works a little while and having leisure with friends is not that bad at all. In fact, it could help us to become more productive. We all need breaks.

Just like these millenials I came across while walking in the Boulevard. They have enjoyed playing volleyball. Sweating time shared with friends is a form of stress reliever. Who wouldn't like to go out, find time to exercise with friends? It would definitely give us a happy moment, right?

When you're a parent I warn you do not visit Boulevard with your children when you're wallet is empty for sure you will just stressing yourself.

Boulevard will not only guarantee you beautiful scenery but it is also a place filled with many street foods; ice cream; balloons and different forms of souvenirs. If you're with your children maybe they would end up crying if you can't give their request. Maybe you should prepare your wallet before visiting boulevard with your kids.

Fancy bars and restaurants are just meters away from the boulevard lining up along the streets. If you like a less tranquil and adventure night with friends, the buzzing bars are just around the corner.
