This buffalo nickel might look like it is in bad condition to people who don’t collect coins. The hair is worn but that is expected of buffalo nickels, and the year is very visible and clear. From my experience, I found that about a third of buffalo nickels have the date completely worn off, a third have a date that is barely visible or just a little more worn than my example, and a third have a date very visible. The buffalo nickel is a beautiful coin but the date is very high and near the edge of coin leading to it being worn off quickly. Buffalo nickels are my favorite nickels even though they have this drawback.
