I went to at a local coin shop and there was a line of people so I went of to the side and started looking through the foreign coins and tokens basket. All the coins in the basket only cost $0.25 usd. I saw a big coin that looked worn and old so I picked it up and once I saw the date was 1913, I knew I was getting it.
The coin features King George the 5th on the obverse and was one of the earliest coin showing him. The design displayed him from 1911 to 1936. When it was discontinued, it was changed to a smaller coin because it was kind of bulky and heavy to carry around (and obviously inflation). The coin has a melt value of $0.07 from the copper in it. I am very happy with this coin because I only payed a quarter for a piece of history and a coin that is worth about $1.50.
