It's a good thing I wasn't in a hurry because the road was stuck in the sky!
I was taking a walk to the west shore and I had just arrived at the Johnson Street bridge only to find my way was blocked...
The warning horn had just sounded and the woman on the left had already walked a few feet onto the moveable span and had to turn around and come back.
This was the first time I had been right down beside the bridge when it lifted. This thing is bigger than it looks and it caused me some vertigo when I stared up at it.
I realize you can't get a good sense of what this thing is based on what I've written above so here's a short gif file that will explain more clearly. I tried to stand very still while I fired off 33 shots, roughly 5 seconds apart, hand-held... You can see I tend to move around more than I should!
