Saul and Barnabas (2): Spiritual Growth
Text: Acts 9:15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
The purpose of Saul is revealed here: he should grow up into a minister of the gospel. Saul cannot then afford to be an unserious believer who would take the things of the spirit lightly. For Saul to be successful, spiritual growth is compulsory.
Do you have the same leading? You are sure the Lord is prompting your heart to service among the saints? Then spiritual growth is a must. It would be a great disservice to to the saints if without being studious and without evidence of growth, you jump into the scene leading other believers.
Although right from the beginning Saul's purpose was stated, Saul never jumped into this head-on. Learn from Saul, the call to service is a call to spiritual growth.
