CHAPTER TWO

The blissfulness of a happy home like every other couple topped the list of our desires. I recall our conversations, the long midnight talk’s days before family, friends and foes witnessed our joining. At the cool of the day, we would take a walk down the path which led to the beach. With hands firmly clocked almost leaving no room for intrusion by the cool evening breeze which added some flavor to the romantic atmosphere of love birds perching on the soft cold sand which constituted its ground. We would sit facing each other. Her favorite position was the sprouted knee pose on which she rested her hands after slowly and carefully detaching it from mine. She said it made her feel calm and relaxed. I know she is special and I treated her as such. On one of those evenings she looked at me and stared into my eyes, her face shone brightly and as she smiled, my nerves responded, I felt an unusual rush it was like the pouring of chilled water. My biceps expanded and contracted as I paid rapt attention as though my existence depended on the words she said. We will be happy! She said. There was certainty in her voice. It was what we both wanted, I smiled, my left hand moved frantically as it approached her knee, our eyes met as the accoster met the accosted. We smiled, I was glad she was optimistic.
