In our African culture Nigeria to be precise A tribe called Igbo where many cultures are e been practice one of the cultures practice here in Igbo land is marrying of so many wives , this practice of marrying of so many wives really helped in the olden days because it was a means to help out in so many things like labor and other things.
In the olden days is difficult seen an Igbo man marrying a single wife because marrying so many wives has a way of making labor easier (division of labour) why so because in the olden days the igbos use agriculture as their means of survival and income to make money so this number of wives will get part of their own labour which they will help in carrying out and when they do this the work will be easier.
Here a man marries more than one wife and build house for each and everyone of them.
Those days there was love and understanding among the wives and this makes them live in peace with each other not minding the number of wives that is there, with understanding the carry out there duties without any problem complain or being jealous for other wives, but they were living in peace and harmony.
But nowadays it is difficult for a man to control more than one wife because there is no understand and harmony and love that was practice in the olden days in this era of life.
