Ao Nang is a beach area in Krabi. It used to just be one street and it was fine then. As the years passed they expanded around the sides and built basically anywhere that something can be built. These days the hassle factor exists on the beachfront and probably the first 100 meters leading away from the beach. I don't spend much time down that way but when I do you can see the touts standing and waiting to try to lure you into a business. This has never ever worked on me or anyone I know. I don't know why they bother.
