Tooth removal is very common in small breeds and at least in our experience it is also common in cold weather breeds that are raised in really hot climates like South East Asia. So it is only logical to assume that by combining the two the chances of tooth decay and therefore the need for removal would be even greater. We perform several of these surgeries every year and have never had an issue. Your worry is admirable, and probably unwarranted. The good news is that the cleaning that you did on the teeth may slow down or even stop the need for additional extractions in the future. Most of the time when we remove decayed teeth from dogs over this way, it is a one off. I hope that yours can be the same.
