Huskies were "fashionable" in Thailand for about 4 years or so. There were Husky coffeeshops all over the country and people foolishly thought that if a business can do it, so can I. Huskies are very demanding pets. They need a lot of exercise and they tire very quickly in the heat and humidity of Thailand. It quickly became known what I think should be obvious: A very large cold-weather dog requires a ton of work to have in this country and therefore a lot of them were abandoned - which is super tragic.

One of the famous coffee shops in Bangkok started putting warnings in their shop after this happened about how they are advising that people do NOT get one of these and telling how much effort in terms of grooming and temperature control it requires. I think that fad is over now.

Now everyone is getting Corgis
