Hey guys. Is it time to come back to the blockchain?

Been in and out of blockchain blog world since the apex a few years ago. My life was upended by multiple moves and I couldn't maintain this alongside everything else - but tried to keep a toe in the water or whatever the analogy would be, dropping the new videos I did make otherwise here as well.

Do we come back here now with everything going on? Are we decentralized enough to actually avoid censorship--right down to servers, etc.? Are we too complicated (I spent a month learning Steemit and the whole concept of crypto at the beginning, and I'm pretty focused when I want to get to something - but is the average person? It's a lot to take in for the average user)? Will we ever get out of beta? Is peak'd really any good?

[update: no, peak'd isn't any good unfortunately as I couldn't publish this over there for literally no reason and had to come back over here].

I don't know. I wanted this to work a few years ago and loved the community and put a lot of time into it, but ultimately realized very few were actually reading and interacting with most of the content and had to move on to other things.

I've known since 2017 at the latest that we needed new platforms, which is ultimately why I stumbled into Steemit (now Hive obviously, or both if you're a weirdo and don't really understand the dramarama that went down some time in 2020).

I hope we can make a go of it again, maybe? But I don't know. I'm exhausted by all of the online alternatives and "building audiences" and maybe.. we should all just go read books, because they probably aren't even going to bother burning those because no one reads them.

I'm also just much more focused on the fewer, quality events that I've started doing, song commissions, formally publishing, along with my new subscription platform - (https://www.kayclarity.art/2021 - nice - I remembered how to hyperlink things here).

Just curious about everyone's thoughts. I wish it were easier to onboard people here. I can still hardly get them to invest $50 in crypto.

Anyway - maybe I'll be back here again. Would be cool if it took off again, but need to know I can really build an engaged audience to be able to put time into it.

Let me know any of your thoughts about any of it all. Will be curious to know.

I've affectionately been calling this the "backwoods of the internet" for a few years, and think fondly of our time together - especially with eyes aglow that all of the crypto nerds were already all over the extent of the corruption I only barely started to see in the last year.

The Cardinal McCarrick thing exploded in 2018 and my first thought--especially as a Catholic--was.. 'those wonderful people weren't crazy! I bet they are right about the rest, too.'

And you are.

Crypto nerds for life.

xx,
Kay
