El día de ayer no pude participar en nuestros Lunes de agujas y publicar mis proyectos del fin de semana debido a una falla con el servicio de internet; sin embargo, hoy estoy muy contenta de contarles sobre mi nuevo proyecto.
Blessed day, dear crafty friends of this beautiful NeedleWorkMonday community, I hope you are all starting this new week with the best attitude.
Yesterday I was unable to participate in our Needlework Mondays and post my weekend projects due to an internet service failure; however, today I am very happy to tell you about my new project.
As I mentioned before, I love mandalas and dreamcatchers, so I decided to learn how to crochet them. I have already made two models of dreamcatchers in my previous publications, so I had to learn how to crochet mandalas.
Mandalas are much more colorful and bigger than dreamcatchers, so I started looking in my box of materials for some yarns that could be useful to start this new project. I found that I only have acrylic yarn. I wasn't sure if this type of material would work for me because I wanted to get a firm result; so I decided to do a test to see how the mandala would look like with this material.
This time I didn't want to work following a particular pattern; I simply looked at several images, captured the essence and then I let myself go with the knitting, since this way I feel much more relaxed. While I was knitting I took the opportunity to watch a series that I usually watch on Sundays, so I had a very entertaining afternoon.
The original idea was to intersperse different colors and stitches in each twist, however, I realized that with acrylic yarn the fabric is a little loose, so I decided to have some twists with the raw pabilo yarn and mix it with the colors so that the result would be much firmer.
Gracias por leer, saludos y bendiciones.
As I already mentioned, I made this mandala to test the material I have at my disposal. For my next mandala and dreamcatcher projects I plan to buy cotton thread or colored wick to get a better result. On the other hand, I was very pleased with the pattern that emerged, so I will most likely repeat it and add more turns to make it much bigger. I hope you like this little essay and soon I will be sharing more projects of mandalas, dream catchers and other decorating projects.
Thanks for reading, greetings and blessings.
