What a lovely new week and am glad to start it up with my entry on our Weekly Featured Contents Titled Youth Crime. I will say this crime is all over the world and most people get away with it and some go into a serious punishment for whatever crime they have committed. Most of the crimes this days are committed by the youth and it has become so rampared.
Crime is a felony or should i say a illegal act and the government do their best to punish whoever has committed such felony. But this days crime are ignored and embraced, Which is very wrong. This crimes are more in the youth of this days and they all claim after being caught saying peer pressure was the reason for their crimes.
I don't think peer pressure is enough excuse for any youth crimes, I am a youth also why didn't i think of commiting crimes. I know it is not easy to survive in this country, it is really hard in this country Nigeria no doubt about that because am a Nigerian. But i did not for a day thought about stealing or killing any one in order to survive.
I will love to tell you a little story about me and how horrible my life was and I never for one day thought of evil.
Life haven't been fair since the beginning, It is just that most of us chose the wrong part that is why sometimes it looks like nothing is working. I was just a lonely boy in the streets, I had a mother, but you know how it works in this country not everyone are financially okay in the family. I had to leave home, to search for Greener pastures and it was not easy at all.
I was in a place i had no family, I was more like a refugee in that area along the line, I was fed up frustrated. I had no money no job, I barely had food to eat but i did not think of doing anything that will lead to crime, but there was a time it flashed through my mind but i did not allow it sink into my head, I moved on with life, and hoped for better days ahead.
It was really rough in the streets, I had no were to slee, I will always lay in a barbers, shop just to pass a night, I must say this it wasn't easy for me had so many bad and evil thought to some extent when i couldn't take it no more. But i made myself strong in the lord and he showed me mercy and in some months time everything became good, I got a good job and was able to take care of my family.
Normally, I would have thought about evil maybe like committing crime but no i didn't instead, I was patient and prayed to God and all became good again, I also faced peer pressure. That is not an avenue for you or anyone to get involved in a Crime many youths uses that statement called peer pressure as an excuse to commit a felony.
I have a lot of reasons why crime is so much in the lives of our youth.
★ No Job Provision (Unemployment)
★ No Good Economy
★ No Mouth watering Minimum Wage
★ Inflation
★ Poverty
These are the reasons why youth crime have been in the increase, and i have not even mentioned lack of affection from family. This are reasons most of them even go as far as admitting that they went into crime because of peer pressure. I will be realistic here, sometimes it is not easy what people go through poverty. I have been there before and it is not easy but i will repeat what i have been saying it is not enough reason to go into crime.
First and foremost parents should always be available for their kids, I think the first thing we should do to reduce or stop crime is just for the parents to show affection to their kids. Most kids wants love and when they don't seem to get it they go rogue, That should be our first step to stopping crime.
The government should also try to create protective community environment, an environment that is good is also crucial, it could also help reduce crime a free violent environment will do good. This is what my country Nigeria doesn't have and it adds to the crime, if this can be attended to then crime will reduce.
The government should also make or create provisions for work, availability of work will help reduce crime am sure about that one. The government should also provide good economy this is key because with a good economy all this crimes will reduce.
