Here are 5 reasons Steemit artists should power up all they can.
- Steemit is a well working technology that will have at least another year on the internet - A long term strategy is not a bad idea.
- The people with most vest are controlling what gets upvotes. Right now technical people, investors and random early adopters own the most vest. These people does not necessarily vote for art. So we'll have to do it ourselves.
- When you power up your growth is always going to be exponential - the more vests the higher rewards for voting, higher upvoting of your own posts etc. If you power it all up things will begin going faster and faster.
- People are attracted to wealthy and powerful people, not a very noble trait, but that is the way things are. Having a certain amount of vest will inevitable give you more upvotes (and SPAM comments and begging).
- With more vests you will be able to upvote quality content, and people who makes and cares for quality content will get richer and vote your quality content. This is what drives collusive voting rings, but here it is used to the best for the platform.
I think if we could make the percentage of vest used to vote on quality art larger it would help Steemit become a respectable platform that could attract other professional artists (maybe giving it more than just a year)
This is what I do anyway.
EDIT: I have rewritten a bit thanks to @bryan-imhoff's comments. Also remember that this is not only about art, could be a lot of other topics too, and of course artists should also use some of their votes on music, cooking, and thong reviews.
