Sniper missions are surveillance and observation, anti-sniper, killing enemy commanders, opportunistically choosing their own targets, and even anti-material duty destruction of military equipment, requiring large-caliber rifles such as .50 BMG. In the war in Iraq, snipers are increasingly used as supporting roles, namely to protect infantry movements, especially in urban areas.
