Hello Shadow Hunters,
this is my entry for the wonderful Show Me A Shadow Contest - Round 212 organized and hosted by @melinda010100 and the Shadow Hunters Community.
Spring has finally arrived and we took advantage of the beautiful weather to go on a hiking tour in the area.
Our trip took us to a small tranquil place with 861 inhabitants.
Situated above the village on the Windberg, towers the windmill of Bavenhausen - the landmark of this place.
It was built in 1853 and ceased operation in 1984.
Today it serves as an elevated tank for the local water supply. If you approach the mill, you will see that it is beautifully preserved.
It was covered with wood from the outside, which gives it a great expression.
This was the view at the beginning of our hike. In the distance you can see the Windberg with the windmill.
Next to the mill there is an information board with some child-friendly explanations about the mill and about natural phenomena, such as temperature, precipitation, cloudiness or wind.
I like it when children are introduced to these topics in a playful way.
After our 3 hour hike, the rest at the windmill was our absolute highlight and we enjoyed the wonderfull view into the landscape.
It was a great ending to this beautiful tour!
I wish all the other Shadow Hunters good luck for the contest and want to say thanks to @melinda010100 and the Shadow Hunters Community for the opportunity to participate in this wonderful Competition!
