No one actually likes going there, and I had always wondered what made someone decide to become a dentist. Sure you want to fix people, I get that aspect. You want to give them the most pleasant experience as possible in a situation which is not really that nice.
But come on..Having a job where everyone shivers while walking in there and looking at peoples mouths the whole day. I guess it is a special sort of profession.
Nevertheless, I am glad these guys exist and that also they are so different compared to when we were all growing up and the dentist was a scary place. Now the dentist is just a scary place in our mind.
The issue of the idea. My wisdom tooth had to be removed and I was not happy at all with that if I am very honest

I was referred to a specialist for getting the wisdom tooth removed and I really eas not happy with loosing a piece of me just for prevention. Was it really prevention, or had I been ignoring the fact that it was already not how it should have been for a long time.
Honestly I think it was the latter. It was giving some complaints, but never enough to really make an effort of bringing it up on the check ups. Until the dentist brought it up.

So finally the day came where the wisdom tooth had to be taken out. Working in surgery myself, sometimes we have patients in the OR who have all of their teeth extracted at the same time and I know how much pressure you have to give on a tooth to make it move, especially if it is still a healthy one.
That is the day where you know too much and you know exactly what will happen and what phase is what. So I decided to tell that to the dude who was assigned for the butcher job that I felt like I was rambling because I know what would happen and I was not too fond about it.
And that is why it is weird to become a dentist. Because most likely I am not the only one rabling about this, and you have the reassure the patients. Even though it is not for something life threatening. Even though it is not for something difficult. It is for something we all made bigger than it is!
All and all the butcher dude was super nice and with perfect local anesthesia I didn't feel a thing of it. Well yeah, pressure and the sqeaking sound of the tooth pulling loose from the upper jaw bone. Yummie...not
But the thing with tooth stuff is always afterwards. The liquid diet. The pain that stays for days, with that it is challenging to take the painkillers because you cant really swallow anything. And the hole in the mouth (and soul hahaha) that has to heal again. It takes time and it is annoying.
Recommentations for the liquid diet are appreciated! The homemade applesauce and gazpacho (cant have warm drinks too much) are already on the menu. But more inspiration aint a bad thing, otherwise this might just turn into a loooong week.
